We start by listening.
Immersing ourselves in the local context, we engage local leaders to understand real needs and aspirations to ensure that our work reflects the priorities of the people we serve.
We source technologies in a variety of ways – from tapping existing partnerships to launching national challenges inviting applications.
We start with a four week Accelerator that gets tech companies rural-ready and our community collaborators pilot-ready. This approach boosts the likelihood of a successful pilot experience for all parties.
Working with Sourcewell’s legal team, we create agreements based on the goals co-created by the technology companies and community collaborators.
Real-world pilot opportunities launch post-accelerator with a variety of partners in rural communities. AscendRural staff provide structure and support throughout the pilot experience.
Data collected throughout the pilot is evaluated in partnership with researchers at Northwestern University to validate impact and ROI. Results are reported via academic articles, presentations, and online reports.
